Lent: Be with Oneself in Prayer

Let Be with Oneself in PrayerAnother Lent is beginning. It is a given time to renew ourselves, as a result to renew our Church.  It is the time to look into one’s own heart to realize, “who am I”?. In the life of Jesus, we find that, He had a special time of being with Himself: a time with God the Father.  It was the time of prayer.  For the followers of Jesus, lent is the time to be with oneself and to know oneself. For being oneself, like Jesus, each of us has to be little far away from others. The “others” can be people or that which are around us and making our life engaged.  With the mark of ash, we proclaim that, we have entered into the time of penance, reflection and fasting to prepare ourselves for Christ’s Resurrection.  It denotes that, we have to set apart a time for being ourselves with God.   So the first question during this lent is: Can I dedicate little more time to be with MYSELF in prayer?
